I just love this post. I have hated the idea of Uber since its inception. It was to me so clearly a middleman-wealth-extraction con to screw taxi drivers.

I'm not a taxi driver nor any relatives but I have known a few and taken A LOT of taxis. Those folks are NOT getting rich driving a taxi. Turning working poor and lower middle class people desperate to makes ends meet in a weak economy into private contract gig worker taxi drivers was obviously just going to make all taxi drivers poorer.

Uber and Lyft were solutions looking for a problem. "Ride for hire" has been around for hundreds if not thousands of years. Smart phone apps were not the missing link to better, cheaper service.

I could rant for hours. I can't wait to see both companies die. I am too cynical to believe that the founders will go to prison for their obvious fraud.
