I haven't read that book but have added to my "to read list."
I listen and support a podcast "Government Secrets" with Lee Camp and Graham Elwood. It uses only mainstream sources and is very eye-opening. I don't listen every week due to time and because it is pretty sobering/enraging.

They have a lot about CIA operations, particularly how the US worked with the Nazis pre-WWII, major US firms like Ford and GM all through WWII, and the US supported (supports) fascist groups after WWII up until maybe today.
As I said, it is pretty sobering / enraging.
