I have recently started traveling to southern Sardinia on business and getting to know the people there. A long time ago I was a couple of times in Sicily, but only in the colder months. Very nice folks on both islands.
That being said, talking about the weather, my Sardinian contacts said in the summer it is pretty tough because the humidity is high, the temperature is 40° C, and a huge amount of sand is constantly blowing over from the Sahara.
Pantelleria, being more southern and even closer to Africa, I would think it would be even hotter and sandier in the summer. Maybe not. I don't know the prevailing winds.
