I have an uncle who was Navy for (IIRC) 20 years and then an engineer until retiring. He's one of the nicest people I've ever known. His son (my cousin) was 20 years a submariner and is also a really nice guy.

I hate this war and the sociopaths who caused it. I feel for all the dead on either side, with the exception of those committing war crimes and the Nazis in the UKR forces. The sooner it is over, the better.

I find your empathy fantastic!!! It is only through feeling the humanity of the other side that this war will end.

On a completely different subject: My wife has been training our dogs for going on 18 years, and I've learned a lot watching and learning from her. If your dog is barking and going after other dogs it is most likely you that is the problem.

Dogs react to how their owners react. If your dog feels you get tense when another dog is around, your dog will be tense.

Of course there are exceptions. Trauma is a real thing. Our current dog is a 90 lb husky-something-mix from a shelter. He had (we think) 4 previous owners and the last one had him chained in a yard. He had a lot of issues when we rescued him 2 years ago, and was super agressive (a significant issue when your dog weighs 90 lbs!) to other dogs at first.

My wife has worked with him every day, and he is now a zen master in 99% of all situations. We can walk off-leash with him without issue. It is all about conditioning and that WE are chill when other dogs come, even if they come running and/or barking and/or growling.
