I got an email like this a few years ago. I did watch porn, but I use external monitors so there is no camera on me unless I explicitly open my laptop during conference calls, and I keep it covered even when closed. So there was no chance of film of me.

That being said, I was worried, because a site I used to be on had been hacked, and maybe I forgot to cover the camera once?

I thought about it. If I paid, what keeps the blackmailer from doing it again? Answer: Absolutely nothing. What keeps the blackmailer from sending a list of my porn habits to my family, friends and (the real reason I was worried) my customers? Answer: Also nothing.

I realized that watching porn brings risks with it. But I don't have any illegal kinks. Not even really bizarre kinks. It would probably be embarrassing, but I would survive. I've been through something worse as a teenager and survived that.

So I faced my fear down and ignored the email.
