I don't require a mental leap. That is my normal frame of mind. I work for going on 35 years in a scientific job. Lots of analysis. For going on 29 years I've run my own company, with quite some success.
You don't stay successful in my business if you don't have an open mind on how to analyze situations, because you'll go broke chasing bad assumptions.
Before 2000 I realized I didn't have the same perspective in my personal life, including news and politics. I won't claim it was an overnight change, but for around 25 years I've seen the world through different eyes.
For example. I wasn't fooled by Bush after 9/11, and as an engineer I can't say what exactly happened to WTC towers I and II, but I can say that the NIST report is bullshit because the math is wrong.
Arpopos math. A lot of my work has to do with mathematical optimization and control. A key factor there is that starting inputs have a huge effect on results. The same with news and relationships.
So maybe you need to make that leap. You'll find me already on the other side.
