I don't like Joe Biden. I'm glad it looks like he'll replace Donald Trump, but Biden is a racist, sexist (alleged rapist), blood-thirsty asshole.

That being said, people going after Biden for unconditionally loving his fucked up addict son is both mean and politically stupid. It is beautiful that Biden loves his son and supports him through his addiction. For fuck's sake, Biden is handing his detractors the perfect political ammo: "Hey Joe, why don't black addicts get the same empathy from you that your son gets?" "Hey Joe, why is it only bad when Republican politicians' kids grift off their parents?" That his detractors go after the one thing (so far) that I really, really like about Biden pisses me off even more just because it is so incredibly dimwitted.

My dad (RIP) used to give me lung collapsing hugs and a kiss when they'd meet me at the airport after I moved overseas. I kiss my adult son, too. I did it when he was little, why would I stop when he is grown? I think guys who have a problem with it are afraid of what they feel when they see a man kissing another man - as you also posit.
