I don't know if this is satire, serious or somewhere in between (I suspect the latter).

I know two brothers whose father climbed the corporate ladder and made enough money to buy a rental property plus a flat for each of his boys, one of whom is a friend.

One brother (my friend) is also climbing the corporate ladder. Wife, kids, political office nighmares, lots of wrinkles and few chances to make it to the boardroom because he's too nice and too honest.

The other brother started corporate, then said fuck it, I can work jobs I like (sports trainer in the sports where he has semi-pro talent) and together with my rental income I can live great.

My friend has told me many times over the years he thinks his brother made the better choice.
