I don't excuse you. I can read. I sit at a computer all day for my regular job, and keeping up with US politics is one of the things I do constantly for both business and personal reasons. I don't have to live in the US to know what a majority of the American people feel.
It is definitely true that I don't know what the people in Malibu, California feel, because I don't live there. I do know that people in multiple cities feel, because I talk with them and visit them regularly. That information is anecdotal and basing one's opinion on only who you talk to in your everyday life is in no way going to tell you how "most Americans are feeling."
There are 333 million Americans at this point. The ONLY way you are going to know how most of them feel is to read and watch a variety of news sources. You can read those from anywhere on the planet with good internet. Living in the US is a not a pre-requisite. Glenn Greenwald is the best example I can think as an example.
