I disagree with every paragraph.
The conflict began in 2004 when the US demanded - without any authority except monetrary "carrots" and military "sticks" - that Ukraine must redo their election because the US didn't like the outcome. That was conflict, but not yet military conflict.
The 2014 coup was violent. The new leadership was not constitutionally elected. Yanukovych was democratically elected. His successor was selected. The US-backed coup was the start of armed conflict. Russia REACTED to the coup by annexing Crimea. It is disengenuous at best to say Russia's annexation was the start.
I am sadly sure that there have been war crimes committed by all sides in this war. Russia, Ukraine, outside forces (mercenaries, US, UK, etc.). That being said, Ukraine fired their own government representative (I forget her name) responsible for reporting war crimes for literally MAKING THINGS UP. Specifically claims of Russians raping Ukrainians as a terror tactic (among other false claims).
You last claim would be funny if it weren't so serious. Your use of the term "conquest" is, IMO, a dodge. If the US overthrows a government (the list is VERY long since WWI) and installs a puppet government, you could argue that is not "conquest." I would argue the point is moot if the US has control of the countries main levers of power.
In any case, your last statement is false on two fronts: 1) Israel does not get a pass. Their entire existance is an issue to many in the region, even if I personally don't have any skin in the game. Israeal stole and occupy Syria's Golan Heights right now. 2) The US is - right now - occupying 1/3 of Syria and stealing Syria's oil and wheat.
