I am a business owner for 25+ years. I don’t plan to cut anyone’s salary or lay anyone off (could change but I don’t think so).

The difference between my company and the vampire firms is that I’m the owner and my company is not a corrupt “too big to fail” loser like Boeing and co. During good times we put money away so that Albrecht Software Consulting GmbH (ACo) has a cash buffer set aside to weather this storm. Anyone with any business sense saw a recession coming. Covid-19 just brought it now. As the majority owner, I did not drain the company of cash like Boeing and co, leaving us vulnerable. Firms that did should go bankrupt. The stockholdes should take a major haircut and the C-level executives should be tossed out on their greedy asses.

If the recession becomes a depression and goes on a long time, ACo will have to make some changes. Because the ACo employees know we’ve been running a solid business and taking care of them, we’ll find solutions together as Chapman did. It is all just part of running a good business.
