I also live on climate island, with a huge river and a few lakes. Over the 26+ years I've been here, the winters have also gotten milder, which means the snow melt each year has gotten less. That is my biggest water concern, and a huge number of places around the world have the same issue, but without the backup of other water sources.

Wars over water are very likely in our near term future.
