I agree with most of your points. Zuckerberg's idea that I want to go to a virtual meeting where everyone sits at a table with avatars is just stupid. We have had cameras in our meeting rooms and on our computers for many years and most people don't use them except for high-level intros.
If I want to see someone or be seen, I and they will want it to be real. If we can't meet in person, we will want to see their real faces and expressions, not the metaverse-ion of their faces that were tweaked by some company to look more trustworthy.
