I agree very much with both your points: It is about being alone and misunderstood, not a feeling of no worth.

The last IQ test I took on a lark. I was very tired and hungover as hell and scored 140. So not as smart as you, but pretty smart. :-)

My wife thinks I'm probably on the spectrum, as I have some social issues and have difficulty relating to people, plus a couple of other things.

One advantage is focus. I am able to focus on things really well, and as you say, look at the big picture, recognize a pattern and find a solution really quickly.

I was lucky enough to find a career in engineering and systems design and then start my own company where I can limit my interactions with people. When you run your own company you are always alone. So several of my "problems" are advantages that have helped me to be both successful in my work and not get freaked out.
