How interesting. I never heard anything about this. I've visited several extinct volcanoes and two active ones (No virgins were harmed in the making of that film!). I was not very close to either of the active ones (Italy, Hawaii), but did get to see ash plumes and very recent lava flows. What a great read! Thanks!
