Hi back and thanks as well for your response. I'm also white (as you can see from my "photo" ;-) in my profile) but had a couple of brown girlfriends before marrying my slavic wife. I also have several slavic girlfriends (platonic). Even here in cosmopolitan Vienna I've seen a LOT of racial bigotry, but I must add immediately that compared to Houston, Texas (where I lived prior to Vienna) the bigotry here is minor.

The problem in the US, and maybe in Ireland, is a lack of socialism for the working class (plenty for the wealthy!). Here in social democratic Austria, and particularly in socialist Vienna (we've had a socialist mayor since the end of WWII), there are a lot of laws and policies to keep housing affordable.

I very much sympathize with those who don't have such a system, including Brianna. I voted for and financially supported Bernie to try to get it for them.

As I noted, I looked on Rent.com and found a flat for $895/mo minutes from where Brianna chose to hide her shack on wheels on her parents' property. Brianna did not choose to live with her folks or somewhere cheap and not so nice while she figured out the red tape regarding tiny houses.

My original point remains the same, the original article and almost all the comments have the attitude of a white girl from money (if you have a piece of property large enough to hide a tiny house you ain't poor) breaking the law is not a big deal. I smell entitlelment and white privilege.
