Great read. I’ve been in a relationship for a long time, but being blessed (and somtimes cursed) with a really good memory, I remember well going through the phases of being dumped, miserably single, resigned to being single, and happily single before I met my wife. I think that made a huge difference in how long and how well our relationship has lasted and aged.
