Great article. The two great lies about the civil war are:

1) South, it was about states rights; and

2) North, it was about ending slavery.

The truth is that:

1) South, it was about maintaining slavery; and

2) North, it was about not allowing the South to secede from the union. Lincoln only freed the slaves as a means to this end.
