1) That statement has almost nothing to do with ergonomics of the user controls; and

2) How's that autopilot function (i.e. "the car doing the right thing automatically") that you promised would be fully functional about 5 years ago coming along?

I remember the second-worst project manager I ever worked with was a super arrogant prick like Musk. He had no understanding of the physical processes, no idea about the relevant process engineering, and no idea about the relevant systems engineering. He would just see some feature he wanted and ignorantly and flippantly declare, "It can't be that hard."

Well yeah, Elon (and unnamed project manager) sometimes things that are "easy" for the human brain** to do are not so easy to realize.

** Note that in the case of autopilot we are not talking about any human brain, we're talking about a human brain that has been taught to drive (remember learning how to drive?) and to drive in all conditions and respond to ANY event, including, for example, a split-second decision to run over a pedestrian or crash the car into a tree.
