I've written for years that my biggest concern with Autonomous Driving (AD or FSD) is liability. If there is no human being who can be held accountable for the software, then FSD will always suck in the current world market.

Why will FSD always suck? Because it will ALWAYS be more profitable to cut corners to bring some new feature to market faster if the penalties for getting it wrong are lower than the profits.

As we have seen for at least the last 20 years, in the current global market the penalties for killing or harming people are - for large US based corporations - ALWAYS lower than the profits.
