“Do you support Assad” is not a yes or no question, particularly when the US has been trying to violently overthrow his government for 5+ years.

What does “support” mean?

Do you support Modi? If you answer, “No” does that mean you support a violent overthrow of the Indian government? If you answer “Yes,” does that make you a supporter of serious crimes he may have commited?

I didn’t like Gaddafi. But Libya and the world was much better off with him in power than not. Does that mean I “supported” him?

Gabbard is not my favored candidate, but geopolitics can very, very rarely be reduced to “Yes” and “No” on “support” of a particular world leader.
