Dave, you’re thinking like Jeff Bezos, the sociopathic capitalist, where it is every person fighting against everyone else. Try thinking more like Bruno Kreisky (spoiler alert: he was a socialist!) and how societies can pool their resources to achieve great things individuals can’t do alone.

There are over 8 million people in NYC. That would mean $4 billion dollars to — for example — revamp the NYC subway system. Beaumont, Texas would have $57 million dollars for road repair and busing. Tiny Chester, Texas would have $156,000, more than enough for city-wide public WIFI in that tiny town. These things bring dollars because small businesses flourish when there is good infrastructure. Small businesses pay A LOT of taxes (unlike Bezos and Amazon).
