CIA Operation "Paperclip." When I have time I listen to the podcast "Government Secrets" with Lee Camp and Graham Elwood. All public record sources. Enlightening and depressing.
The anti-Russian xenophobia is shocking. We understand how horrible the Japanese internment camps were, yet we're just a short step from that now. In Washington DC (at least a year ago now), someone threw a brick through the window of the popular restaurant "Russia House." Ironically, the restaurant is owned by a Ukrainian who named it "Russia House" because they thought it would be more popular than "Ukraine House."
My dad was born and raised in Wisconsin to 2nd or 3rd generation German immigrants (arrived in the US in 1873) who spoke German as a first language. He was a small child as WWII started. I asked his mom once why they didn't teach him German. She said something like, "It was not good to be heard speaking German at that time."
That is where we already are today. Madness.
