China and India are aligned on the most important economic issue of the present day: Whether to be a financial vassal to US hegemony.
I'm always saddened at the hubris and blindness of people who think that if you don't align 100% then you can can't have a coalition. That is the mentality that has lead to where we are now. Detente is a word that appears to have been forgotten.
On the other side, it is the hubris and blindness of the US hegemony (i.e. "The West") that has lead countries that disagree on many important issues (e.g. Pakistan and India) to put aside their differences and get along to avoid the obvious "divide and conquer" approach of the West.
