Bush didn't "try" to destroy our democracy, he went a long ways towards doing it.

Trump is a neofascist asshole, no doubt. Thankfully for us, he is incompetent, lazy, stupid and un-subtle. Bush is neofascist asshole who was less incompetent, less stupid and far more subtle (debatable on the lazy part).

By any half-objective measure, the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and first and foremost the completely bullshit "war on terror" are far worse than the obviously horrible things Trump did.

The Patriot Act took more rights away from Americans than everything Trump did. Because it was more subtle, the Patriot Act has been re-upped with virtually no discussion.
