The oligarchs are (for the most part) stupid to think they will survive social breakdown by "escaping." If there is a social breakdown, their security will just turn on them and take over. Why would Johnny Hiredhitman continue to follow Jeff Bezos' orders when shooting Bezos and taking over his compound will not result in arrest or prison?
