Are there ways to ask a doctor to check someone's liver without it being super obvious? What would the name of the test be, "liver scan?" Sorry if that info is in one of the links and I didn't read it. I'm a bit pressed for time right now and I'm dealing with a time zone delay.

My mom is a heavy drinker. My sister takes her to the doctor (and will do so tomorrow). Mom doesn't like to admit or is in alzheimer denial about her drinking.

We'd like mom to stay alive longer, but we're also dealing with the reality that we can't make her quit drinking (there are extenuating circumstances preventing that).

So again, if my sister could just ask the doctor to do an "X" to scan mom's liver, what would "X" be?
