Anyone who thinks the US was "mostly OK" before Trump is either in denial or lying. We didn't wake up in January 2017 and suddenly "become" all these things. We've been them either all along, or able to hide them.

The real problem with Trump is that he is such an incompetent moron that he can't hide the racism, sexism, warmongering, xenophobia, exploitation and greed that has been driving us since we arrived on the continent and declared that God gave us the right to wipe out the 30-50 million inhabitants already living there and take their land.
