All one reads about from the MIC and in the MSM is "Who is a bigger threat, China or Russia?" I reject that framing. "Threat" as a noun means "an indication of impending danger or harm." China and Russia (not to mention North Korea, Syria, Iran, Venezuela, Bolivia...) are only "threats" if you accept the framing that the US is entitled to a planet-wide hegemony where no other country can offer more than token rhetorical resistence to any US demands. Without that framing, those are just "other countries."
