Alien Robots on Earth

A theory of mine is that the aliens that have been seen by humans are a much more advanced version to our mars rover “Opporunity.”

The aliens who we can perceive and can recognize look mostly humanoid according to most reports including the National Enquirer. Aliens that are (still) organic wouldn’t travel to earth themselves for the same reasons long space travel is risky and prohibitive for humans. These aliens want to study us but not be too scary, so they make humanoid robots. AI makes them autonomous or nearly so.

The aliens “drop by,” probe a couple homo sapiens, then take that collected data home for their scientists to study. Any alien who has studied us for more than a week knows that trying to make contact will most likely not end in a friendly enchange, so why bother? Especially true if that alien is dark-skinned compared to humans.
