Actually, the US medical system is on the verge of collapse because you (we, but I don't live in the US anymore) have a for-profit health system.

There is a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth about the imminent collapse of health care systems in countries where there are a lot of pharma jobs and money. Like Austria, where I live, and next door in Germany.

What I believe in is body autonomy and optimization.

Two years ago when this started we didn't have much info or vaccines. Now we have a lot more of both. Vaccines are good for protecting you (which is why I'm 3x vaxxed). But the vaccines we have don't last and don't keep us from spreading covid.

We know those facts after 2 years. We also know a lot about how to increase resistance to Covid. People should get vitamin D, zinc, vitamin K, exercise, and lose weight so they don't get Covid at all. No major media talk about that anywhere.

We also know a lot more about therapeutics. Monoclonal antibodies, ivermectin (the human version), and multiple others have been used all over the world EXCEPT in counties where big pharma is dominant. Whether you believe the therapeutics I listed are good or not, there is no valid argument against researching and promoting therapeutics, because they save lives.

We should be trying everything that we know to keep people from getting Covid and to minimize symptoms once people get it (particularly now that we see Omicron spreads to the vaxxed and the unvaxxed).

We should be trying REALLY hard to get a Trips waiver so that 3rd world countries can produce low-cost vaccines.

In the US and EU, we're not doing anything I listed in the last 4 paragraphs. We can see empirically after 1 1/2 years of vaccines that we cannot vaccinate our way out of this pandemic. Israel, Singapore, Iceland, and Gibralter all have 100% (or near) vaccination rates and are still overrun with Omicron cases.

The only rational conclusion is that the real goal of the US and EU is NOT to cure covid but to sell more vaccines to the EU and US governments.

I believe in bodily autonomy. A woman has the right to choose what to do with a zygote or fetus in her body until it is viable. Similarly, every human has the right to refuse to take a medical procedure. Like with abortion, there are limits to the right to bodily autonomy. Covid has a less than 1% chance of catching it (Delta) and a 3% chance of sickness or death even if you do catch it (again, Delta). The Covid vaccines are leaky and wear off. In this situation, there is no justification for forcing a medical procedure on people who don't want it.
