Actually it is not, unless it is deep winter and there has been a huge scarcity of game. Wolves are very shy by nature, and avoid human contact. Fairytales about "big, bad wolves" are just that: Fairytales.

Now if you mean wolves attacking a flock of sheep kept outside near the village, that would be plausible.
