According to whom? According to Russia it was facing an existential crisis of a border country entering a hostile military alliance and asking for nuclear weapons that could reach Moscow in 4 minutes. You call that a good place?
Let' say Russia backed a coup in Mexico in 2014, installed a Russia-leaning government. Russia then sold/donated $3,000,000,000+ in weapons to Mexico. Russia put GRU agents all over Mexico to fight those who didn't support the coup government. Russia built RF camps to train Mexicans specifically how to fight against US forces. Mexico killed US-expats and US-leaning Mexicans for 8 years (about 12,000). Mexico also changed its constitution to say it is its goal to join the Russian Federation. In December 2021 the president of Mexico said he thinks Mexico should get nuclear weapons (note the capital of the US in this scenario is Austin, TX, not Washington, DC) In February 2022 Mexico massed 60,000 troops on the border to the breakaway Tamaulipas state of Mexico ready to roll in and wipe out the US separatists once and for all.
Would you say, "all other things being equal, the US was in a good place last February."
Looking forward to your honest answer.
Before you answer, keep in mind that last February - and right now - half the US politicians are shitting their pants because unarmed refugees from Latin American countries the US has destroyed through war, coup, and/ or sanctions are at the southern border.
