A few years before your story, I kinda knew a guy named David in High School. He was the best friend of my best friend's older brother. We were all middle-class, but my neighborhood and high school was just a notch higher in income than my best friends. I was - of course - going to college. A couple of them would go, a few more would go to the local community college. Most looked for jobs. Jobs that were no longer easy to find.

David was a bright, good looking guy. But he could never hold onto a job, or a job that paid anything decent. I didn't talk to him a lot, but it was clear that he was frustrated. No surprise to anyone reading a comment on this post, he and his wife started selling Amway. I was a poor college student so I couldn't afford overpriced gum and household cleaning products. Since I wasn't buying, he was pissed off and I never heard from him again.

If David is still around, he would definitely be the kind of guy looking to buy the bullshit that Trump was selling. Sad situation. Bad situation.
