From their point of view, we are trying to kill them. From their point of view, we have been trying to destroy their country for decades. We (the US) even invaded them. There are a LOT of video and documented statements by US politicians, including our current president, to support their point of view.
In my opinion, the idea that Russia should just accept that if we in the West decide that they should no longer exist, they just have to accept it, is the actual childish bully position. The world doesn't work that way.
The upside for them is that they take us with them. If the Russian gov't thinks it is going to be destroyed, they will launch. Fortunately, we are pretty far away from that right now. Russia just keeps making it clear - "If you kill us, we're taking you with us."
Putin is brutal dictator. I really don't think he is bluffing about this. If you are wrong, we all die.
Russia is not saying, "give us Ukraine or we launch nuclear missles." They are saying, "Do not threaten to destroy our nation or we will launch nuclear missles."
Cheers. :-) Happy digging!
I know in the west we heard about Zelensky's millions with the release of the Panama Papers, but I don't know how widely it was known in Ukraine.
Yes, he did. He tried. Then he gave up and apparently decided, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em."

A great general source is "Moon of Alabama."
Yeah, that was a pretty cool move. Lenin came to visit my adopted city of Vienna multiple times, but Vienna was home to Stalin (shortly) and Trotsky (longer). Not to mention Hitler for many years.
A great book about that time in Vienna is Frederic Morton's "Thunder at Twilight."
Musk is just Trump v2.0. Funnier, smarter, richer. He is just as big of a fraud and conman, but being funnier and smarter, he gets away with obvious market manipulation and fraudulent sales.
I'm not a lawyer, but I did win multiple legal battles against my ex-wife, including a years-long underdog battle for child custody.
I would only work for Musk if he paid up front with a no-clawback clause. Musk has famously fucked over people high and low who work for him. Just like Trump.
