I share your fear. The people against the protestors know that they are in the wrong (as with Vietnam and the end of apartheid South Africa). That is why they turn to violence.

Israel has killed more children in Gaza in six months than in all the other armed conflicts in the world in the last 4 years. There is no rhetoric, no repetition of "Israel has a right to defend itself" (of course it does, but this is not defense) that can justify this level of barabarity. So they have to turn to violence to shut people up and stop the protests.

Like with the Vietnam protests, I think it is going to get worse before it gets better.
